Minoan Honey Bee - Melissa

In this "Minoan Honey Bees" collection you will find a reproduction of the original ancient Greek Minoan bees pendant. The original pendant, which was found in Chrysolakkos, Malia, Crete, dates back to the Middle Bronze Age (1800 - 1600BC) and today is considered the most famous piece of Minoan jewelry and the original pendant is exhibited at the Heraklion Archaeological Museum, on the island of Crete in Greece. This superb specimen of Minoan goldsmithing with granulation and filigree technique, represents two bees carrying a drop of honey to their honeycomb and is offered in five different sizes. In the same collection, there are earring sets of honey bees, inspired by the Minoan honey bees pendant and a brooch inspired by the Minoan bull, which was a central theme and symbol in the Minoan civilization.
